From this location, students will spend the remainder of the trip ministering at schools, orphanages, and churches before returning back to the US. On the next leg of the trip, students will tour a few sites on the way to the ministry headquarters. After spending a brief time ministering in the slums to some of the world's poorest people we will travel to visit a leper colony. Students will arrive in the nation's capital. Students will have the chance to interact with pastors and ministry leaders that have suffered greatly for their faith. This mission trip to South Asia will give students an appreciation for the persecuted church. PROOF OF VACCINATION MUST BE PROVIDED TO CGCS TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE TRAVEL DATE. NOTE: COVID-19 VACCINATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. Total cost of the trip is $750, including a $125 deposit upon registration. Students will learn about refugee resettlement, and receive training in engaging the foreign-born population from closed countries and highly persecuted areas with the gospel. It will be an immersion experience in various ethnic enclaves in order to develop skills in doing cross-cultural missions and ministry in the context of a North American city. This trip will focus exclusively on cross-cultural missions, and will feel more like an international mission trip than our normal North American trips. Because of this, Houston provides one of the most strategic opportunities to share the gospel with some of the hardest to reach people groups in the world.
